Message to TKC Members From Paul Brophy

HELLO MEMBERS AND WELCOME TO THE 2012 RACING SEASON

We have a full year of racing planned for you, so here is an outline of what's in store.

The season opener is the "Fun Day" at Cockburn on Saturday January 21st. No points here, just a relaxed way to shake off the cobwebs and get tuned up for the year. A good opportunity for new members to start racing in a "no stress" environment with plenty of help and advice available.

Speaking of new members, our junior driver co-ordinator Greg Williams, has a number of new member inductions and driver coaching clinics planned for the year, so pencil these into your calendar. Invaluable advice and information for new members' parents and racers under 16.

Our Club Championship kicks off on Saturday, February 18th with a day / nighter at Wanneroo. At most club days last year we had in excess of 100 entries, so there's plenty of people to race against, and with our 5 heat format, there's plenty of racing too. Club days this year include lots of give-aways, so those of you that haven't raced much of late, get those dusty karts out of the shed and onto the track.

We have our $100 JACKPOT after trophy presentation at each club day. If the person drawn out is not there, it jackpots every month until the winner is present. Last year, it jackpotted to $500 and a very happy Matt Robinson took the cash at the November club day.

We have TYRES TO GIVE AWAY. Last year we gave away a set of tyres for the Cadet / Rookie classes. Now it's the Juniors turn.
Every third club day, a different group of members will have a random draw, with the winner getting a set of tyres. If you race at all 3 club days in your set of meetings, your name goes into the draw 3 times, twice for 2 outings etc.

A set of tyres for Juniors will be given away at the end of the April club day.
A set of tyres for Senior "J" or Sportsman 100 classes at the end of the July club day.
A set of tyres for Sportsman 125 or Restricted 125 classes at the end of the October club day.
February 2013 and it's Cadet / Rookie time again.

We also have some big Open Meetings planned, so get out your calendars and mark in these events.

The "AUSTRALIA DAY OPEN" is on Saturday 28th January at Cockburn. Should be some big fields to start the year off, so bring your Aussie flags and green and gold gear and let's see who the most "Aussie" team is.

April 28 and 29 is the "CARNIVAL OF KARTS", also at Cockburn. This is a 2 day event and we're expecting big fields again, so the racing should be awesome. There is a HUGE prize pool on offer, with thousands of dollars worth of karting gear and cash up for grabs. Make sure you put this one on your calendar. Should be a ripper !!

The final of the "WESTERN CUP" will be held at Wanneroo on Saturday June 23. This is a day / night meeting, leaving your Sunday free to do whatever you like.

We have a surprise in store for the weekend of August 4 and 5. The details still need to be sorted out, but WATCH THIS SPACE.

We finish off the year with the "HAVE A GO" Open on Sunday 25th of November, at Wanneroo. Bring your friends or family along to have a go in a kart or give your pit crew a thank you for their work throughout the year. This was a lot of fun in 2011 and a huge success, so don't miss out this year !!
